Today one of my coworkers and I had to move our replacement heifers to a new pasture.
The pasture they were in was about 5 miles long and anywhere between 1 and 1-1/2 miles wide.
And there is just over 600 heifers.
These girls are just turning a year old, and they will be bred this summer, and then have their first calf a year from now.

Walking (Them, not me :) I was on a 4-wheeler) |
|
Still Walking |
|
If you look really close, you can see the front of the line snaking around the hill... |
|
Stopping for a drink |
|
2 hours later, we are finally at the gate!!!! |
|
I think this is about 2/3rds of them....
So math problem for you all...If a heifer is approximately 6 feet long, they travel 4 abreast, and there are 600 of them, how long is the line????
So I tried to get a family photo of the dogs, but I had to yell at Caydee and Oreo to get them to sit, which made Bo roll over, and then Oreo didn't understand stay.....
First try, Bo, Caydee, Oreo
Second try, Oreo, Bo, Caydee.
Caydee was being good, and right after this I ran out of battery, but Oreo went to the other side of Caydee and laid down on her back too!!!
What a group!
And can you believe how big Caydee is getting?!?!?!
Well Shoot....I just realized that I hadn't copied a couple month's worth of pics off my phone :'( and I went through and deleted them. Bother.
