Well I made it pretty close to on time this week!
Life has been a little crazy, I moved from a tiny office basement into a whole house on the ranch, and I don't know what to do with all the space!!!! (It's a good problem, but I doubt I'll have it for long.... ;) )
Tell Wendell we have some grass greening up around here (!!!! in January. In Colorado. But that's its thing) So he can come visit with all the cow ponies sometime and discuss grass :)
Questions:
1. How many seed catalogs have arrived at your home?
I fear the answer is none...I'm not known for having a green thumb, and really just don't put enough time and energy into it....besides, all my friends have one, and I get all the overflow!! :P
2. Will you be learning something new this year?
Well....(the slightly squeemish can skip to the next question) I'm really excited to learn how to preg-check cattle. It's accomplished by sticking your arm in and feeling around for the baby. :) You do wear a glove up to your shoulder, but there is no getting around getting manure all over!
3. How many pair of boots do you own?
Welllllll I live on a ranch so:
1pr work boots; 1pr work boots 1/2 size larger to fit wool socks; 1pr nice boots; 1pr muck boots (best boots ever, the arctic sport is the warmest boot ever!!!) 1pr snow boots; 1pr heeled dress boots
sooooo.....I guess 6 pair, but I feel like I'm missing some somewhere.... :)
4. Do you have anything planned for Valentine's Day?
nope....
5. Tell about your favorite breeds of dogs?
I love, love the bully breeds - Rottweilers, Mastiffs, Pit Bulls, Dobermans
They have a reputation, but all the ones I've met are just big lap dogs...
Of course, My dog is none of these...she's half cow dog and half bird dog and will only grow to 45-50#
Big dogs rule!!! (right Patrice??? ;) )
We had a pit bull crossed with a fox terrier, he was really excitable, loved tearing things to pieces, but was the most loving pet.

Make sure your gloves go all the way to the shoulder. It's a messy job! Happy that you have a bigger place. I like some room to stretch, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I like the big dogs that love to work! Great answers!
ReplyDeleteGreat dog breeds. I had a Doberman long ago, and loved him. His name was Sir Paladin of Overland Trail [the registered name]...we just called him "Pal"
ReplyDeleteI see your post signature as ColoradoCowGirl....I grew up and raised my family in Colorado - in the foothills north of Denver. Are you a Colorado Rancher then?
I've had several occasions of seeing cows giving birth. One especially was having a very hard time. Traffic was stopped all down the road watching her struggle until the farmer came and got her and took her into the barn. I don't think that I'd like putting my arm in "there"...but I hope that it works out fine for you. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
